Harassment is a major source of litigation; the financial costs are enormous and can severely damage a company’s reputation with employees, customers and investors.
California employers with 5 or more employees are required to provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees by end 2019. This includes seasonal hires, temporary hires, independent contractors and workers located out of state.
Supervisors are required to have 2 hours of training and non-supervisor employees are required to have 1 hour of training. Training must take place within 6 months of hire or promotion and every 2 years thereafter.
